Exclusive: PL big guns have 6-figure bid accepted by Sunderland
Norwich City have had a bid accepted by Sunderland for midfielder Bali Mumba, Football Insider can reveal.
The Premier League club have made the breakthrough in their pursuit of the 18-year-old as they close in on a summer deal.
A Norwich source has told Football Insider the two clubs have agreed a fee of £500,000 for the Sunderland academy product.
The England Under-19 international will now be free to discuss personal terms with the top-flight side.
Sunderland are set to lose Mumba with a year remaining on the contract he signed in the summer of 2018.
He made his debut aged 16 for the north-east giants on the final day of the 2017-18 season, stepping off the bench in a 3-0 victory over Wolves back when they were both in the Championship.
Mumba appeared destined for huge things at that point but his career at the Stadium of Light hasn’t taken off as many expected.
In total, he has managed only 10 appearances for Sunderland, with just two of those coming in the starting XI in a league fixture.
In the recently-curtailed campaign, Mumba’s only first-team involvement came in an EFL Trophy clash last August.
