I think if you can find healthy meals that are tasty it can help.
We've been using the Green Roasting Tin cookbook a lot lately. Healthy, tasty food.
The things to always watch are portion size and snacking.
If you can find a way to get enthusiastic about healthier meals (by finding stuff which you enjoy eating and that fits in with the time you have) - alongside ways of being active that you look forward to doing, you'll stand a better chance.
Small, long term changes are the way - rather than short term unsustainable diets.
