Do you know what? I am anti violence, anti vandalism, not comfortable with the increased

chance of spreading Covid but I approve of removing this statue. This incidence has now become part of history itself.
It is not erasing history, it is writing new history. Maybe the statue should be re-erected in a museum of slavery, so people can reflect on his actions. Many statues around the country mean very little to the passing pedestrian. From the little I know about this chap his philanthropy in later life didn't really compare to the misery he inflicted on the slaves. I don't know much about him so I'm not basing this on much.

Maybe we should be down at Thetford celebrating the achievements of Thomas Paine, there's a great statue of him outside King's House. What a geeza
