Two highly popular songs of the 90s

That I've never cared for:

Wonderwall - s**te lyrics and overplayed/busked in the years since to extinction.

Bittersweet Symphony - they just pinched the main riff from 'the last time' by the stones, who in turn pinched it from Grieg (Hall of the mountain King). Then chanted gloomy lyrics over it.

That said, I loved a band who borrowed liberally with pride from everywhere (elastica).

Overlooked 90s classics?

Madder rose - 3 and a half great, great albums in the 90s (and one last year)
