My PO Final memories

Flew over from the States to watch with my 80 yo dad, sister and nephew - all lifelong City fans.

We had got tickets through my sister's ex-husband who's company had some kind of debenture at Wembley. We ended up on a corporate type deal with a pre-match meal and snacks at half time. Trouble was, we were in the Boro end of the stadium (still not sure if my sis's ex did that deliberately...)

We had a lovely, if drunken meal, making sure to hide our scarfs etc. We knew we were also meant to be sitting in the middle of the Boro fans for the game and were sure we couldn't contain ourselves if City scored, so tried to find a senior steward to explain our dilemma.

Hats off to the Wembley folks, they managed to find us 4 tickets in the Norwich end and walked us through the 'non-public' parts of the stadium to get to the seats. On the way we, literally, ran into Stephen Fry outside the Directors box.

We got to our seats about 5 minutes before the kick off - the rest of the game you know...

As we were still in the hospitality section, we were allowed to have a couple more pints and celebrate with other Norwich fans before leaving. On the way downstairs my sister suddenly grabbed my arm and dragged me, my dad and Nephew into a new lounge area (I was trashed by this point and so everything seemed a bit hazy anyway).

Cut a long story short, my sister had, somehow, managed to blag our way into the players lounge using some line about wanting to say hello to Delia. It was about 2 hours after the game and I guess the security folks didn't really care that much anymore.

We spent the next 30 minutes hanging out with all the players, taking pictures and having a truly surreal time.

As things were starting to wind down we said our goodbyes and walked to the tube station to catch the train back to my Dad's house, wondering if the previous few hours had really happened.

The chance to experience all that with my family will always make it one of the best days of my life!
