The simple truth is....

He would rather have been in lockdown in Durham than London.

Who wouldn’t? Being stuck in a city terrace with tiny garden or enjoying the rolling countryside of County Durham.

I live 10 miles from Durham and I’m really grateful for my house and garden here with 2 young kids.

I’m not condoning the fella - I can’t stand him - just explaining it. Shame he can’t be honest about it but then again, he is a Tory.
