Nah....Is it April 1st?...

Lets all thank the teachers? Yeah right.... thanks for doing little or no teaching either in school or online during lockdown with hardly any pupils turning up. On average less than 10% of looked after children or children of key workers have been in school. Most looked after children are totally unaccounted for each day. State school pupils generally have done far less if anything online than in the independent sector. What a surprise!

But lets thank teachers anyway for still kindly banking their full salaries from tax payers while others on similar scales in the private sector with no "customers" or providing next to no service are declared redundant or on 80% furlough at best.

And particularly heartfelt thanks for shutting out most secondary pupils till September and to the teacher unions for finding endless dubious reasons not to reopen primary schools anytime soon. After all they've only got to spin this out till the summer holidays and there's another six weeks in the bag.

Meantime lets note that in Denmark teachers have successfully reopened all primary schools and redesigned classrooms and playgrounds for distancing without problems or whinging. Just getting on with it.
