But lockdown is surely the equivalent of "banning cars" and

we've had 35,000 deaths and lot of people very ill in 3 months even despite lockdown which is more than suffer serious injuries in road accidents all year with everyone driving.

If you reduced driving for 3 months to the extent that lockdown has reduced people's movements then the number of people dying on the roads would be incredibly low.

So surely that analogy doesn't stand up.

If we let it spread uncontrolled then 500,000 Uk residents would possibly have died.

There is of course an argument that we have to have relaxations and manage the risk but its clearly way more risky than driving.
