a friend's wife is seeing more of her ICU doctor husband at home now than ever before. Covid-related demand simply isn't that high in these parts. Last time I checked we were single digit daily deaths across the whole of the south west.
Lockdown was meant to be about building capacity and stopping hospitals from getting swamped, not trying to eliminate covid deaths entirely (a fool's errand for a country of our size and place in the world ecosystem. It'll be a fool's errand even for somewhere like NZ.)
