But I’m looking at s994 of the Companies Act and the fact it ultimately comes down to an equitable judgment on what is it isn’t fair and I think we would have a case.

Not saying we would win but I certainly think there is an arguable case there because the implications of relegation are so much bigger than pretty much any of the other issues being discussed (ie title/European spots) for the clubs involved.

This is a unique situation. Fact is that legally there probably isn’t a right or wrong answer because it will gone down to a judgment to be made on the facts and circumstances of the case.

I suspect this is closer to your usual expertise than mine and therefore you are more likely to be right. There is probably an element of wishful thinking in my assessment! I just don’t want to see us be the fall guys again!

That said I kind of see it as a no lose situation for us. We were probably going down anyway. I think there is a chance we can use this to negotiate no relegation. If not I still think we have a half a chance if project restart happens and probably a better chance than we would have had had the season completed normally.
