There isnt really a legal angle

It's the default scenario that the law would revert to.

When the season ends, the bottom 3 in the table go down. The rules are clear. They make logical sense. If something else was meant to happen, 22 sets of lawyers would have drafted something else 17 years ago. A court wont imply some contrived wording that saves our bacon just because of some notion of fairness to 3 clubs that would be unfair to other clubs.

Unless you want to injunct the League from ever ending this season, and we just slide into insolvency still claiming the moral high ground?
