The laws allow shorter games, so long as each period is equal

Not that I'm advocating it, no f**king chance! However, the Laws of the Game deferto Competition Rules and "agreement by referee and teams before the start of play."

Not really in place for this kind of unforeseen circumstance, but nonetheless probably why it was mentioned in the first place.

PS. The whole idea is barking and EPL need to give heads a wobble!
