In the bigger picture football is trivial and all the chatter about a restart is baffling. It should only restart when it is safe for everyone who needs to be there to be in the stadium - and I think we are some way away from that reassurance. And I personally dislike getting sucked into the possibility of us staying up - by fair means or foul. If none of this had happened it was obvious we were going down - so lets move on.
BUT I am concerned about the psychological impact on those who are more vulnerable. I'm fine - I'm retired on a pension so for me its just extreme retirement. (although how long we can pay pensions for is a question). But for those losing their jobs, business and potentially their homes the stress is unimaginable. And maybe even worse for those on the margins of society. So, on that score, anything that gives pleasure can only be a good thing. Whether that extends to the Premier League I leave to smarter minds than mine!
