I can't imagine watching it without fans either

Especially as now I'm back in the area, once I can raise the small mortgage required I will be able to get a season ticket and resume my rightful place as one of them. An issue being that one of my kids wants one too, which starts to get pricey, and then said kid has fairly serious anxiety so wouldn't cope where I like to stand so I'd have to go in the South Stand so he could sit down and not worry about the noise so much. All of which I'd put up with of course - going with one's kids is A Thing.

I've got used to watching it on the telly during my exile but I simply can't imagine a game on the telly with no fan reaction/noise - it's a central part of It All.

Is it possible to do football crowds with social distance? Nah, don't be daft. If we all wear facemasks, is it enough? Nah, don't be daft. Etcetera.

We need to wait and do it when it's safe and not before. And that's before we get into the whole issue of footballers getting tests while front line health and care workers can't; of footballers requiring emergency medical treatment while emergency rooms are under significant pressure - God forbid someone has to wait for treatment so someone's ankle can get patched up. For instance.

I want it back as much as anyone but not now, not till we can do it properly. I don't care if we skip a year and start again this time next year with the tables as they are now, or if they void it or if they mess around with it somehow or other. Honestly we deserve to go down and the Champs is more fun anyway so I don't really mind if they simply call it now, though we do have "easier" home games to come so...

The TV money will ultimately rule it all anyway. But how compelling a product is it really with no fans in the stadia?
