But, imagine if we still have social distancing in place when schools are fully open. In a room that can normally fit 32 children, I can now only fit 12. How will that work? Where will all the children go? How will we recruit the additional staff needed to supervise the extra groups? Particularly when so many are self-isolating or unwell. Equally, how will we ensure 5 and 6 year olds socially distance? Special schools, where children have high end needs making restraint a regular occurrence. It needs to be thought through properly. It’s not as simple as ‘opening schools’. Which, by the way are currently open. Including over Easter and the bank holiday.
