just as many, many employees are being furloughed and/or accepting pay cuts over a period of time in order to safeguard their jobs/the companies that employ them.

To be honest this proposal may be a bit of PR from the Arsenal board/owner.

I take more exception to the "deferral" line being pushed by the PFA. I despise that Gordon Taylor tw*t. They do some good stuff for retired players but not really enough - just obsessed with maximising wages for players at all costs.
