I met Bill Oddie once in the car park at Holkham beach.

He looked really familiar. I knew I knew him from somewhere but couldn’t quite place him so assumed he must’ve been a parent/grandparent of a child I taught a while back but had forgotten (that sometimes happens). Rather than be rude I did a friendly acknowledging wave and said ‘Hello, how are you?’ in a nice to see you again sort of way, then left quickly before the need for any awkward conversations.

It was ages before I twigged.
