No, that won’t work BUT

Write to them saying: we had a contract (you to provide hotel, me to pay); the contract has been what lawyers call “frustrated” (no one at fault but the contract now cannot be performed, because of the pandemic); and the law (specifically the Law Reform (Frustrated Contracts) Act 1943) says that you are entitled to your money back under a frustrated contract.
