If you look more broadly at the number of people dying/day from all causes (covid + cancer + heart attacks + etc) this week with the same date last year you find that the total death rate is far higher.
This simply suggests that lots of people are dying due to covid complications who have not been tested for covid and therefore don't go on the list as a covid stat.
This is the same globally. I fear the death toll is way greater than reported. I also fear that every country will have to deal with this and that us Europeans, with our developed healthcare systems and the ability for a relatively large proportion of our population to work from, will fare far better than many less developed regions.
