"trust no one until proven otherwise"

Obviously recognise the wisdom of that in this case. But more generally, you can't live like that, no?

One good thing that I hope comes out of all this is that we all realise and remember that almost all of us are trying to do the right thing, almost all of the time. All the more so when we all actually trust each other.
