cost the club around £2,000,000.
I suppose it would depend a lot on whether they have insurance to cover that amount. If not then I probably wouldn't take up the option of any refund in the circumstances although if now the club itself is not paying the bulk of the salaries for its non playing staff then I think I would have second thoughts about that stance. I wouldn't forego any refund just to ensure that the stinking rich players or the likes of Webber & Co continue to pick up their full wage packet.
Again also would depend on what happened with the TV monies.
What the prem really need to do here is get BT and Sky (and where possible the other tv companies) around the table and get them to agree some kind of sensible solution on the tv monies such as offsetting any monies due back to them this against future tv deals. The clubs would no doubt face reduced budgets for future seasons as a consequence but at least they could plan on that basis.
