it just looks a bit bad for any business that has budgeted to pay many of its staff

huge salaries, to be asking for the government to pay the salaries of its lowest paid employees.

And for a self-styled 'community club' it's an absolutely terrible look. But then again, having a betting company as a sponsor and fleecing the fans through pricey priority schemes, are not great looks for a community club either.
