he's a barber right? maybe he could offer his customer base a "package" of ten haircuts in the future (when all is good) for a substantially reduced price? so he gets paid upfront and then he has established a customer base to go back to when all is ok again. Say for example (arguments sake) he was charging £15 a pop for a haircut pre-covid, he offers his customers a block of 10 haircuts up front for £10 each now so he gets a £100 cash fillip here and now from each customer. In this way he also gets to ringfence his customers for the future and can build his business up again on the back of this. just an idea.
