That jump in the numbers yesterday

For those that are interested.

Apparently some NHS Trusts are reporting on deaths daily to the Department for Health but others are only putting in their reports every few days and thus when they do the numbers on those days jump. By way of example the Harrow Trust which seems to be the most under the cosh reported 38 deaths in yesterday's figures which were most likely over several days. So the figures over the weekend and on Monday would have been depressed slightly and yesterdays figures inflated slightly.

Therefore all the experts are saying look at the trends over several days rather than drawing any conclusions on a single day's figures. Which is obvious really.

UK 7 day average increase for cases is 17.5% and for deaths is 24%.

UK 3 day average for increase in cases is 13.6% and for deaths is 23%.

Italy has had its daily increase in cases down into single % figures since 14 days post lockdown and last 3 days have seen an average of 5%. France was going the same way but had a spike in new cases yesterday. Not sure if there is any obvious reason for that.

As of today we are 9 days post lockdown.
