one of 3 scenarios but not likely

The principal issue in Union is the TV money. Relegation is resolved, no-clear title winners so that's not an issue either.

European qualification is tricky to decide, but resolvable.

If the season stretches too far into summer you hit player welfare issues with having to complete the remaining games then tripping straight into the new season (and if you start to compress next season, you start creating other issues too).

There is a general feeling that they want to limit the impact on next season and there is a big concern around next season even being able to start, nevermind being able to finish this one.

The big issue is whether or not they can take the hit from the lost TV revenue. Some clubs can, some can't.

However much of this is out of their hands and it is much more likely to come down to whatever the general lockdown situation is.

It's untenable to be returning to professional sports if the country is on lockdown and social distancing. It is not an 'essential' service. If you let one sport off, you have to let all sports off.

Clubs have their staff on furlough, players aren't training as a unit. There will need to be a build up to any re-start. The UK will be on lockdown for at least 3 months. There isn't going to be time to complete anything before you're into next season.

They will, IMO, void it. As will, ultimately, the EPL (and most if not all major European leagues)
