Germany's is 0.3 percent. I have no idea where the difference comes from - Italy has an older population and Germany might be testing more broadly? The UK death rate is about 4 percent but we seem to be predominantly testing those who end up in A+E.
It's not really about the number of cases IMHO - it is about preventing those most at risk from getting it and then doing all we can to care for them if/when they do.
Big respect to Smith's Industries who have opened their IP on their ventilator systems so that the UK manufacturing sector can help them develop large numbers of new systems in a short timescale.
