We should really have learned our lessons from H1N1 and others, but didn't

Just look at Trump disbanding the US's pandemic office only 2 years ago.
We could easily be prepared for such things but our leaders give priority to short-termism and never plan for any worst-case scenario.

I doubt much will change in the future if I'm honest
