Primary schools are Millfield and NJ Junior School (Manor Road). I went to Millfield and my nephews are currently in Y2 & nursery there. My Mum was Asst Head at Manor Road until she retired approx 5 years ago. From what I understand, both are fairly decent (Millfield might be a bit better at the mo) and where you are in the town might dictate which suits better.
Junior football teams are (I believe) still at Greens Road which is behind my parents house. No idea on organisation etc, when I played Mundesley were a better standard for my age group though. Otherwise, if your lad might fancy rugby then NW have a good minis / juniors just up the road at Scottow.
Parks you've got the Memorial park next to the high school and also track side near the station. Otherwise, Pigneys wood is good although a short drive and then Bacton / Witton woods slightly further. Also, plenty of beaches obviously for the Fenton during the winter months.
Shopping is Sainsburys, Waitrose & Lidl for food, a few independent shops in the Market Place (butcher, deli, bakery etc). Market is on a Thu I believe, not sure how many stallholders though. Other shops inc QD I think and then other independent types, quite a few food outlets (good & bad) around the town centre.
Hope that helps, was there any particular area of NW that you had in mind?
