Not to be anal or anything, but modern science starts with Descartes who states that every word of science should be based upon what is already know by man, which eliminates about 99% of theory.

That said, I would follow the science 99.9% of the time, which tells me that the aforementioned scammer is racist and looks like an IRONiC redneck at a BAD TASTE party. That’s right... not an ACTUAL redneck, but a comical one. It’s all gone over, hasn’t it? All of it!
