simple switch it off and on again

just void the season like in world war 2 and then go again when everything is ok next year. it's just football, it's really not that important. have a few friendlies behind closed doors to keep up fitness levels and get some routine maintenance done in the stadiums, lick of paint and that. make the most of the opportunity.
