from costessey and buses run (in theory) every 15 minutes. the service commences 0640 hours and ends at 2020 hours on Monday to Friday. £1 includes parking and bus ride. They are building a multi-storey carpark up there in the future but it will be an expansion of the current extortion racket and you will still have to pay a ransom to get your vehicle back. i have observed using my finely honed observational skills that a lot of craft elderly people drop their significant other off at the hospital entrance and then drive up the way to the free car parking spaces adjacent to UEA lake and sit their with their engines running and mouths open until the significant other rings them to pick them up.
I only know of this ruse as last time we went up I took the dog with us as I had hoped to take the fenton for a sojourn around the lake while she was getting treated and thus killing two birds with some positive concurrent activity but I was bed-blocked out by a gaggle of crafty old slack jawed selfish f**kers.
These same people used to park (free) at Waitroses in Eaton and hop on the bus with their free bus passes but those crazy cats that run Waitroses shoved the spanner in that by installing cctv and overstay charges for their carpark.
