if you watch him play (and train, seemingly) he isn't. It's very reminiscent of Oliviera,

who I thought at one stage was pretty special, but game after game he didn't produce it. Eventually it was obvious that he didn't fit here. He left, and doesn't seem to have fitted anywhere else. Maybe Emi will leave and become the new Messi. I doubt it. At the moment he's not as good as Maddison was, not as good as Wes was, and nowhere near as good as Emi Buendia (the one in his own head).
