my old Sgt Maj Dusty Miller was f**king FANATIC about twisted laces "twisted laces, TWISTED SOLDIER!" he'd holler into the face of any miscreants and then deliver a short sharp tap to the scrotal area with the tip of his pace stick. probably get done for sexual assault and bullying nowadays but there we go, all the fun appears to have been sucked out of things. He was f**king mental tbf.
