we could, and perhaps should, have picked up more points against some or all of Villa, Wolves, Spurs (twice) and Newcastle to still be in with a very good chance of staying up.

These last two months have been the worst period of the season imo. A largely fit squad, playing opposition who often didn't turn up or who were below their best, and we consistently failed to take advantage.
