Last time we were up in 2017 our average viewing audience was 650,000 and Villas was

800,000.

Not exactly a huge difference and we as quite widely know to have a more attractive and entertaining side now. I would be surprised if there is any significant difference in the average audiences this season between us and Villa, in fact I wouldn;t be at all surprised if more neutrals watch our games.

Slightly different in the championship where I suspect its much more the fans of the teams involved who tend to watch and less neutrals.

and I know he was dressing it up as a point about how the differential between the champ and prem is unfair which is probably true) but what he was really saying is that clubs with bigger supports like Leeds and Villa should get more money which doesn;t really stack up, certainly not significantly more anyway.
