I don't think a midfield comprised of two players with the qualities of Amadou and Tettey would ever have been good enough to keep us up. Just too opposed in style to the rest of our attacking play.
Our best chance of staying up was for if our creative midfielders could adapt to the league, not for us to jettison them in favour of uncreative, physical players. I'm not sure Farke gave them enough time to adapt. Just played them while we had an injury crisis and then dropped them all. Only to be seen again in the cup, where they have looked great.
