Take Saturday for example, When our Central Defenders and Greeno (Not so much so) have the ball, neither Hughes or Robinson are looking for the ball both of them just jog up the pitch expecting the hoof and waiting to win the immenent "scramble" for the ball. Neither of them dropped short and wanted the ball to feet in order to dictate the play and start up an attack from passing football starting at our end of teh pitch.
There inability to drop off and dictate leaves the defence and Greeno with little option, which they get groaned at from the fans, but in reality they have little choice.
I do however, think Hugfhes and Robinson and reasonable games on Saturday, and both did well in the "hustle and bustle" aspect of Saturdays game. Hughes is a far better player when we havent got the ball, its when we get it he becomes a problem, Robinson doesnt want the ball until it reaches the opponents half.
If we really want to see passing football, Safri has to play as he is the only player we have got who likes to, and has the ability to drop off and dictate the play.
Hughes and Robinson are OK if we are scrapping out results but to play passing football we really need Safri alongside one or theother.
