Summer when he was getting wickets and hitting loads of batters so I think we need to be patient. He hasn't even played that much first class cricket let alone test matches,so he's learning his trade on the hoof.I agree we let them off the hook in both matches,wasting the second new ball.we definitely didn't bowl well tbf,I said it before but we bowled for edges and didn't threaten the stumps enough,plus we need a quality spinner.
