Overheard

Your know those occasional 'overheard' columns in newspapers, where people mention odd things they've heard strangers mention to each other?

I've sometimes thought that I never overhear interesting snippets (and wondered if they're all made up).

Until now. First thing this morning, I was just outside my place of work when two young-ish (to me) blokes walked towards each other. Having seemingly arranged to meet there.

One asked "You all right?" in a completely casual, run-of-the-mill way. The other replied - with an equally casual tone - "Yeah. I feel a lot lighter now I've no longer got an eighty-pound testicle."

At which point they strolled off and I didn't hear any more.

Well you would do, I suppose.
