Tony Martin...

...shouldn't have been found guilty of murder and having watched last nights programme on him I still believe that...

He's lied, I think, with his version of events, or maybe he believes that is what happened, however, they were inside his property and if they weren't going to steal from him they wouldn't have been there and TM would never have shot them...as I understand the facts it wasn't the first time he'd been broken into either though not necessarily by them...

Indeed, anyone that has lived thru a period of sustained burglaries, as I have, does tend to go a bit Bertie after a while and retribution begins to burn deep into the brain...I once went from room to room looking for the tossers that had yet again broken into my house - I'd just arrived home to find a brick through the bathroom window - with an air rifle, I really, really wanted to hurt them (not shoot them, but beat the f**king crap out of them)...the police, as usual, weren't interested and just to increase my sense of injustice my contents insurance was going thru the roof despite out house resembling a f**king fortress, so yeah, I can understand the paranoia that took hold of him...

He should have been found guilty of manslaughter on grounds of diminished responsibility in my mind and offered support on overcoming his anger/paranoia, maybe linking his progress to a jail sentence if he refused it, or failed to make satisfactory progress...
