Went to Turkey first time last year.

Rented a villa in Uzumlu, about 10k from Fethiye. Absolutely loved it, people one of the friendliest so, easy driving about and cheap - my god we found a local eaterie by the side of the road and first meal cost £16 Inc drinks for four of us. Did parascend off mountain, wandered round Roman town remains in the mountains (we were the only ones there and it was free). Looking at going again this year.
