I saw a team very like that play for Hampshire v Australia the year before

my first first class match, a birthday treat.

- Roy Marshall, entry road to the gronud is named for both him and Malcolm (Marshall Drive). Another elegant Hampshire batsman
- Shack - 10 overs for 21 runs, so consistent and tight
- Peter Sainsbury, in both Hampshire's Chairmanship sides. Allegedly never spun the ball after his first season
-Butch White, real crowd pleasing tearaway fast bowler
- Ingleby-Mackenzie professed bafflement when Swanton insisted that the players should be in bed by 11.00. "But surely," he objected, "the match starts at 11.30."

Until my Dad got promoted to Norwich in 1968 and we started to plan to move (though it fell through), there were no connections with Norfolk except that my West Country born grandfather was attached to the Norfolks as a dispatch rider in WW I. So Hampshire all the way in cricket.
