I’m amazed it happened so quickly though.

The thing is for it to work you have to accept bad years. Possibly several in a row and not be impatient. We won’t get a max, Godfrey, Lewis trio every year. Some years we’d get Morris, toffolo etc who might not quite cut it yet (they may still after dropping down).

You have to rigidly stick to it and not panic buy or lose it if you struggle one year.

Everton under moyes was a good example. He is a very very mediocre manager but stability leads to higher achievement long term. Also look at the fees paid for the Murphys and ask how else we could ever even get 2 of those players in our team if not from youth.....
