My plan is to start slowly and try to build. Thankfully you saying that is what I wanted to hear as it was what I was planning - I want to end big and run that last 6 miles as well as possible.
My issue throughout training is that I'm terrible at it. Just rubbish. I get my pacing all messed up (even with a watch doing the work), I run myself into the ground and feel like s**t, but come race days (10k or half marathons, doesn't seem to change) I'm fine. It's like my body remembers all the lessons I'd forgotten when I'm on my own so I'm counting on that being the case again on Sunday. If I see an 8 minute mile split I know I've messed up.
I got lucky to be offered a charidee place for Children with Cancer UK. If you or anyone has a couple of quid to spare it'd be most appreciated! Disregard my target, this was set up and the place offered before I was made redundant and went full-time self-employed so I was expecting the fundraising to be a bit easier in my office environment!
