It's not relegation per se that's considered the "failure"

It's the way we went about it: poor tactics, poor player management, poor player selection/positioning, etc. These were forgivable to the extent that it was largely accepted that Worthy was learning and had at least got us there. But it left doubts as to his acumen at the highest level and, more importantly, those failings last season have been continued this with little evidence that anything has been learnt or that we are progressing in any area. On the contrary, it looks like Worthy & his coaching staff have simply run out of ideas.
