I think fire seriously damages mortar though, so it might look better than it is

however, there are now accurate laser records of these buildings so it can be rebuilt.

Doing incredibly decorative stuff like in a medieval cathedral will cost and ABSOLUTE fortune nowadays though since we don't have virtual slave labour and s**tloads of stonemasons and carpenters anymore
