Always makes me smile that the road they live on was Marshhouse Avenue, Marsh and Rymarz etc! Anyway, he brought all his children up very very catholic, which considering how much he drank...... See, Catholics. All that said, I remember as a young lad, watching them all playing dominoes!!!!! Desolate place Billingham but really good honest folk. One of my last memories of Mum is in Cork, near where she went on holiday from Dublin. Anyway - I don't have the same faith in Church as my mother had, nor my father does. It's not fair.
