My personal opinion is that I would never disallow instances like that because you can never be sure it's offside when it's that close, and you shouldn't guess. Plus, he hasn't gained any advantage by being a few inches off, if indeed he is, so it hasn't had any impact on the play whatsoever.
One of the annoyances of modern football is the easy generation of outrage and TV encouraging people to get worked up about incidents involving irrelevant miniscule margins. If there isn't a clear offence the odds are it hasn't had any influence on the play so let it go...
