I'm sure he loves his kids and all.

Although he does say in some interview (linked further down in the books bit) that his favourite book is The Fourth Protocol, which lowers my opinion of him yet another notch.

The change in results says an awful lot though - Newcastle look and seem a much happier side, which I think has a lot to do with the fact that Glenn Roeder seems like a genuinely likeable bloke (far more so than Souey).

I honestly think you're too harsh on Shearer - he has made his intense dislike of Mafia very obvious in the past, and once said "There are no easy games in the Premiership, except Ipswich at home". I appreciate he's as dull as dishwater, and not as goody-goody as the media makes out, but those two things redeem him to quite an extent, surely?
