A stat of hope for Leeds or SheffU

That cliche about the team finishing 3rd being at a disadvantage in the play-offs (repeated below, but basically mentioned pretty much every time pundits talk about the promotion race).

It's not just a cliche, but it's also pretty much bollox. In fact, the team finishing 3rd has won the play-offs more than any other finishing position: 12 times in the past.

Next best is the team finishing 5th, with eight successes; then the team finishing 4th, with six wins, and then the team finishing 6th, with five wins.
